Well...I made it to Dallas safely- thank you Lord. He sustained me
through horrendous traffic. I did take my car to firestone on Thursday
but couldn't imagine staying in the waiting area so I walked around
the downtown area - finally deciding to go even to the hospital because
they have a starbucks and was the only place open.
I didn't stay long because it was 10 by that time and the thrift store
with the BOOKS would be open- so I walked there and picked up a few after
perusing through the stacks. Firestone gave me a fair deal but only
after my dad talked to them over the phone (without my knowledge)
I watered my garden,had my grandfather check the tire pressure one more
time and drove out.
Yesterday- Jen and I went to the grocery store, came back and made caesar
salad and then drove to one of her friends' house to chat about gardening,
books, kids, and movies among other things.
Today- Jen and I did yoga in the morning, ate breakfast, visited a couple
of asian marts, ate at a vietnamese restaurant, crashed a children's birthday party,
and then went to a church picnic. We did most of this in a car with
little to no air conditioner through record breaking heat. We returned to
a happy jake-dog and we watched a sermon online, did a night practice (yoga)
and chatted a little bit before going to sleep...well actually I'm still
awake but my plans are to sleep soon so that I can continue to enjoy
my vacation.
